My Great granfather James Bell and his brother Benjamin Bell left Knockbride for Australia in 1840. James had his wife Jane Wild with him but she died at sea.I want to know about the Wild family and the Bell Family that they left behind....What are their parents names?...We believe it to be Joseph Bell?...but are not sure....Any information would be great.

I have ancestors in this part of the world, but have no idea how to do research in Ireland. They were called Henry White born c.1800 and his wife Ann nee. Johnston born c.1809. All I know about them is that they left Ireland and moved to Glasserton in s.w.Scotland c.1845. Any advice on how to trace this couple further would be very welcome indeed, as I've hot a wall.

My GG Grandfather died Cappy, Baillieborough, Cavan on 22/10/1893. Aged 82. Occup. "Herd". His daughter Elizabeth born Knockbride, Cavan. She was married 1878 to John Vanes at which time she was domestic servant at Cullies.
