Married John Jones at parish church, Newchurch on Feb. 24 1854. Her father was recorded as Rees Rees (farmer, Milestone) on the marriage certificate. Anyone heard of Milestone Farm? TIA.

Seeking information on the aforementioned John Rowlands born in Llansadwrn circa 1786 in terms of who his parents were, any siblings and where he was married. We believe he was married twice - his second wife being Margaret (nee Jones?) The family kept the Square and Compass Inn in the village for over 60 years - initially his widow Margaret, later his son Walter and his two daughters Anne and Margaretta. John himself died in Llansadwrn on 23 August 1845. Despite this knowledge we have been unable to locate a burial record. Any information gratefully received.

In the 1881 census, David Jones is 70.A farmer of 111 acres. Birthplace, Llansawel, Carms. His address is Bwlchcymanfa, Cilycwm, Carms. His wife, 70 was born Conwil Cayo (Caio.) Does anyone know of this Jones family in Llansawel area around 1811 when David was born?

The 1841 Census Return for Pantiauau Farm, Llansawel, Carms., lists: Anna Lewis, 67, farmer; Rachel, 32, daughter; Anna (Hannah), 28, daughter. In outbuildings Thomas Jones, 24; David Jones, 19; both labourers. Thomas, and possibly David, hailed from Llanegwad. By 1851 Thomas had married Anna and was farming nearby Achethganol Farm. He later farmed Brocken, Wion and maybe other farms. The old lady's husband was Lewis Lewis who died in 1835 aged 75. Does anyone know or have any connection with this family ? Much info' to exchange.

Looking for the burial place and any info on my grandmother Rachel Evans (married name was Williams)who died at Twrdu, Llansawel in 1924. She married Rees Williams from Troedrhiwronen Farm, Myddfai. Rachel's uncle Henry Davies was at Cwmcanol Farm, Crugybar from 1891. This is where my father was born in 1923. Her father was William Evans originally from Llanddewi Brefi, Cardiganshire and her mother was Rachel Davies originally from Talley. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I have been unable to find the burial places of both Rachel and Rees.

Edmund PARNALL born c1763 married Mary MORGAN from Lamphey in 1802. They lived in Lords Park, Llansteffan (also known as Llanstephan), where he died in 1840. His sons & daughter were clothiers in London but owned Hill House, Darkways, Cottages and other property in Llansteffan. Nothing is known about Edmond so any information would be welcomed. I also have information on his descendants and in contact with other cousins so would appreciate contact from other family members on this my wife's line.

Looking for details of Lettice Thomas born Llanwrda to Benjamin Thomas and his wife Anne (daughter of John William of Llansawel). Benjamin and Anne married in Llansawel in October 1797 and Lettice, their first child presumably, was baptised on 30 July 1798 in Llanwrda parish. Lettice had at least 2 siblings: Ebenezer Thomas born Llanwrda parish circa 1800 (a butcher and inkeeper in Llandovery) and John Thomas (a drover) born circa 1810. Benjamin died in PorthyRhyd, Llanwrda parish in 1853. It is not known when Anne died, but before the 1841 census was taken. Any information on Lettice would be gratefully received.

Researching Evans from Llanybyther. David b.1824-1876 married Catherine Jones b.1830. They had thirteen children.After his death she moved to Bromyard,Herefordshire and she died 1907.Is there any Evans family still in this area also Jones.We have a picture of her with all her children except one who had died(poss.Margaret/mary).David farmed there but we don`t know which farm.One of His sons,David b.1862 told of his childhood in Wales.He married Rachel Davies b.1864. Perhaps she was from same area.She died 1890.We understand that John Evans was an Auctioneer(Any descendants?).Anyone with history of the village much appreciated.

Robert David Roberts (Roberts llwynhendy) was a preacher at Soar Baptist Chapel in Llwynhendy. Robert was born in Dinorwic, Llanberis, North Wales on 3th November 1820. he married in Bryncroes Church, Lleyn in 1841 to Catherine Jones, the daughter of John Davies. Robert moved around North Wales preaching and was ordained in Sardis Baptist Chapel in Dinorwic, Llanberis in 1844. He was called to Tabernacle Merthyr Tydfil in 1854 and to Soar in 1862. he died in May 1893 in Llwynhendy.

My great grandfather was John Hughes, born in Trelech-a'r-Bettws in 1847. His wife was Hannah, his children Elizabeth, Ann, Samuel, David, Anna, John (my grandfather) and Sarah. My grandfather married Mary Jane Jenkins and they moved to Newport. I know very little about the rest of the family although I found John senior, Elizabeth, and Samuel in the 1901 Census living in Llanelly. I should be grateful for any information.

I know that William Williams was probably born in Peny Bont Trelech in 1795 (give or take a few years). He had a son John born in 1829 in Pen y Bont but who gave his birthplace as Conwil. John was an agricultural worker as a boy but then moved to Llangennech, Llanelli where he married Elizabeth Hennys(Ennis) of Pembrey. Unfortunately there are several Williams families in the Pen y Bont area and I don't know how to take it any further back. The Pen y Bont register does not have a likely candidate for William but there is one in Abernant. Any suggestions?

Thomas LLOYD married Dianah EVANS at Llanfihangel-ar-Arth parish church 09 Jan 1829. They farmed Llainwen, near Gwyddgrug and had the following children: John, b.c.1832; Sarah, b.c. 1834; Evan,b.c.1836; David, b. 1838; Thomas, b.1840; Elizabeth, b.c. 1845 and Samuel b.c.1847. By 1851 Dianah (b.c.1803 Llangeler) was a widow. Of the children, David LLOYD mar Ann TITUS in 1858 and was living at Brechfa in 1861. By 1881 he had moved to Aberdare where he died in 1910. Thomas LLOYD mar Rachel JONES at Llanllawddog in 1860 and farmed there until his death in 1900. Samuel LLOYD mar Eleanor DAVIES in 1869 and farmed at Llandyfaelog. All information on this family welcomed.

My gr/gr/grand mother Margaret Bowen was born c1824 at Pentrebach Farm,Carmarthenshire,she married Dewis Cooke and lived for some time at LLanonn. A letter listed with Dyfed FHS (of which i have a copy) states that she was requested by Shioni Scibwr Fawr (a notorious character of the Rebecca Riots)to deliver a sum of money to him in Carmarthen jail. I am after any information on the former schoolmaster of Pontyates school in Carmarthenshire. He was we think a Mr Thomas or possibly a Mr Booth and his wife was Edith Priest Forster or Butler. A relative met them in the 1950's when they had just retired and Ediths mother Clara Butler ( formerly Forster nee Flitt) was living with them. Don't know if they had any children, all info gratefully received.

I believe he was born in Pontyberem Carmarthenshire, and he died on the 15th September 1969 in Southampton Hampshire. He was married to my grandmother Elizabeth who died in Wytham Berkshire(now Oxfordshire) in 1948, which was where they lived at that time, and they can be found there in the 1939 register.
