red mail Griffiths family St Clears
My great great grandfather was the Inn keeper at the Blue Boar Inn in St Clears. His name was Henry Griffiths, he was born in St Clears in 1826 and married Martha Thomas. I belive his father was John Griffiths also an Inn keeper (not sure where)and he married Margaret (unknown) and besides Henry they had 2 daughters (that l have found so far) Hanah 1822 and Eliza 1824. Does this information ring a bell with anyone? Does anyone know how I would be able to trace the Inn keepers/publicans in Wales?
red mail Annie Louisa Phillips
My grandmother,Annie Louisa Phillips, married Harry Harper in Smethwick, Staffordshire (on the outskirts of Birmingham) in July 1910. According to the marriage certificate, she was born around 1890 and her father was named John. The only Annie Louisa Phillips with a father John I can find in the 1901 census was born in St.Clears. However, this is a long way from Smethwick. I know that the St.Clears John Phillips was a stone mason from a line of masons and have visited his family grave, but need to confirm that he was my great-grandfather. Can anyone confirm that his daughter Annie moved to the English Midlands?
