red mail French Family
Hi I am needing assistance, I am researching my ancesters with the surname French, I have gotten as far as my 9 x Great Grandfather William French born 20th May 1649 in Thornborough, Buckinghamshire and died 23rd June 1710 in Thornborough, Bucks, the only link to parents I have managed to find for him are a Charles French, born 1612 in Thornborough and died in Thornborough in 1673, who married Anne Agnes Carter 1614-1666, Charles Parents I have as a Thomas French 1562-1613 and Anne Agnes Olmstead 1566-1624 who were both born and died in Essex, going further back it appears that Thomas French and Anne Agnes Olmstead descended from Medieval Aristocracy, however my family in recent times are working class so it makes me doubt this link. I hope someone can help me to find out if this is correct or if i have the wrong family recorded. Thank you in advance for your help
red mail Kevin Hedges / Quinton
I am looking for Information on my 2 half brothers KEVIN LURTON and KERRY LURTON who were adopted in Enfield in 1956 and 1957. In 1966 my mum and dad emigrated from England to Australia with four daughters. Three years ago after my dear mum passed away, my sisters and I were informed that we had two older half brothers. We have no idea who their father(s) were but we do know that they were both born at Chase Farm Hospital in Enfield Middlesex UK in the 50's The eldest was registered as Kevin Charles Lurton and was born on the 22nd January 1956 and the second son was Kerry Charles Lurton born the 20th March 1957. I am of the understanding that the first boy was privately adopted through our family "Dr Jones" and the surname "Hedges" was mentioned by my father. The second adoption could have been through the hospital. They could have resided in the Waltham Cross or Walthamstow area later in life Any help with any sort of information would be truly appreciated. Thank you Davina

red mail Jane Illing Circa 1855-1921
I am hoping someone can help me solve a mystery surrounding my 3x Great Grandmother Jane Illing who was born in Buckinghamshire, either Winslow or Nash either in or around 1854/55. I am unable to locate any birth record for her on ancestry. Her parents were George Illing (1811-1872) and Rachel Illing nee Ridgeway (1829-1893) The 1861 Census has her living in Nash with her parents and shows she was born in Nash also, however i have located a baptism i believe to be her from 25th March 1855 in Winslow. She married William French (1842-1920) in Winslow on 12th January 1874. If i search for births of Jane Illing around 1855/54 in Buckinghamshire there are none? I also requested a birth certificate from GRO without the entry details (page and volume) and they searched 1855-1859 and found nothing? She shows on all Census returns and on her marriage record as Jane. I'm a little puzzled. Could there be any reason her parents did not register her birth?
Can anyone help? I am trying to find birth records for Edward BURROWS. He was born abt 1781 in Buckinghamshire. He is shown on his daughters marriage certificate in 1839 and in the 1841 census, but I have been unable to find any records relating to his birth. Any info would be much apprecicated.
