I'm looking for information about Richard POYNTER/Pointer who married Mary (don't know surname) some time before 1707 in Buckinghamshire - probably in Loughton, where they had 6 children (Mary, Francis, Thomas, Elizabeth, Susanna and Johanna). All I know about the family so far is that Elizabeth married Robert BUTCHER (9 December 1739) at Shenley and had 4 children, while Susanna married William MOORS/MOORES (1 April 1749) in Loughton and possibly had only one daughter (Mary).
red mail SPICER/KIMBER Family
In 1911, a Spicer family lived in Loughton, the address on the census reads only Loughton, Bletchley, Bucks. These were Frank Spicer aged 50, a waggoner on a farm, born in Burbage, Wiltshire. His wife Mary aged 53 born in Somerset and 3 children who were Florence Daisy aged 23, Francis Frederick aged 21 (born Reading, Berkshire) and Alexandra Dolly aged 8 (born Loughton). Eldest daughter Mabel Kate aged about 25 and born in Whitley, Reading, is missing from this census. Although the family called themselves SPICER, they also used the surname KIMBER, Frank Spicer being the illegitimate son of Louisa Kimber. I would be very interested to hear from anyone with info on what happened to the 4 children. They may have married using the surname Spicer or Kimber. Thanks.
My family have been in Loughton since the early 1800's starting with Richard HIGGS and Elizabeth MAJOR. Their son William was my gt. gt. grandfather. My father lived in Bradwell Rd., Loughton with his family and then with my mother Kathleen (nee DOE) and then after her death in 1960 with my grandmother also in Bradwell Rd. I went to the little village school in Shenley Church End which is now a private nursery I believe but my father and many of my relatives attended it before me. There is now a Higgs Close in Loughton which is a great honour! I would love to hear from anyone from the village especially with family connections.
