red mail Sidney Hughes born 1903 Trefil
Looking for any information about Sidney Hughes. Father David Hughes born Llanfaes, Breconshire 1853 - died at "King's Arms", Trefil, Bre Apr 1912. Mother Jane ?? born c1864 - according to David's obituary (May 1912) he was a widower. Jane appears on 1911 census which means probable date of death for Jane is 1911 or 1912. 1991 census records family living at Rock Cottage, Trefil. Sidney orphaned at age 9. What happened to him?
red mail Davies/Evans/Judd family
My great great grandmother was Jane Evans (1867) nee Davies and great great grandfather Theophilus Evans (1865) of Shop Row Trefil. I know Jane had one brother John Davies and two sisters Mary Davies and Elizabeth Davies. Elizabeth Davies married William Judd (1877) - (father John Judd) and I believe they lived at Pine Cottage Trefil. Mary Davies married Giles Jones (1873) Theophilus Evans had many brothers and sisters. His parents were William Evans and Mary Evans nee Williams. Any information on any of the families would be greatly appreciated
red mail Davies Family of Trefil & Llangunider
I'd be interested in any information or hearing from anyone researching the same Davies Family: William Davies (b1815) arrived in Trefil in the 1840's married Ann Harris in 1846 and they had at least 4 children; {1} Elizabeth (b1847) who married William Judd, {2} Mary (b1850) who married Giles Jones, {3} John Davies (b1862) who married Mary Evans and {4} Jane Davies (b1867) who married Theophilus Evans. I believe there may have been more children, as the age gaps as so large but I can't find these via census. John Davies {3} is my Great Grandfather and he married William Evans' (b1825) daughter Mary (b.1870) in 1887, they had 10 children. William Evans farmed Sion Sieffra Farm in the 1860/80's. Thanks Huw
red mail Williams Family
I am trying to trace my relatives who livid in Trefil (spelt Trevil in 19C) between 1865 and about 1890. The father was Nathaniel and his wife was Ann (nee Morgan) he was a quarryman. I believe there were 17 children of whom 11 survived childhood. My husbands great grandmother was Caroline and she was born 29 Jul 1882. The siblings I know about were Mary Jane, William (Will), Margaret Ann, Catherine, David, James (Jim), Elizabeth (Lizzie),Caroline, Rebecca (Bec) and Nathaniel BMD isn't a lot of use as the names are just too common in the area. Most of the family moved to the Bridged area to work in the collieries. Nathaniel and family moved to Coventry. I know a fair bit about Mary Jane, Will, Caroline, Bec and Nathaniel. I'd love to find out more about the others even just their names and dates of birth. Williams family
