They are the parents of at least Two children baptized in Foulden (Andrew Jeffrey (1800 - 1863) and Isabella Jeffrey (1801 - 1885). His name on the baptism records are the ONLY pieces of information I have on this 'Jeffrey.' Family tradition is that he was a blacksmith in Foulden.

Would anyone remember my grandmother - Gertrude Helen BROWN (e) born abt. 1885 - Valentines day. She had one daughter born Trudi born abt. 1924 in Cape Town South Africa, then to Bueonos Aires as they traveled a fair amount according to shipping labels. They traveled to NYC and lived in the Sussex area most of their lives. My mother Trudi went back to England when I was 2 and I believe that due to the war they traveled. Wifes family traced back to Andrew McDougal who married Elizabeth Rennick in Smailholm 1795. Mcdougla's were at Huntlywood and in Legerwood at East Morriston for the generations. Thomas, Andrew, Thomas. Robert mcDougal was a silversmith who died 1924. So were the Middlemiss's (1841 Census) (1851 Census) Byrewalls. Thomas Mcdougal was a porter at the "Fever Hospital". he was living ther when he died 1950 ish his wife was Eliza Blackie. Any info greatly appreciated
in about 1844 Charlotte MIDDLEMISS married Thomas MALLEN Charlotte died 1880 and Thomas 1881 at Wooplaw, Ladhope. Their son John married Margaret McDOUGAL son of Robert and Janet JEFFREY in 1870 at Huntlywood, Gordon. The above Robert McDOUGAL's brother Thomas married Jessie MIDDLEMISS. I beleive the girls to be sisters. Thre is some evidence to suggest that thier Father John MIDDLEMISS was the gravedigger at Legerwood around 1855. Would like to conact any relative or other reseascher.

I am researching my husbands family 'Dods' who emigrated from Nenthorn to Ontario Canada in 1829, we have lots of information about the family after their arrival in Canada. We also have some family records from Scotland from their family bible. The extended family had lived in East Lothian and Berwickshire with some connections to Roxburgh. William Dods born July 1781 emigrated, his Parents were Andrew Dods 1746 and Margaret Stevenson 1752, siblings were Andrew 1774, John 1776, Margaret 1778, Christon 1784, James 1786, George 1789 and Alexander 1792. He married Elizabeth (Betty) Shillinglaw, they had 8 children Andrew 1809, George 1811, Dorothy 1813, John 1815, Margaret 1817, Joseph 1819-22, Agnes 1822, and Joseph 1824-1904. His grandparents are Andrew Dods 1719 and Christian Haig 1720, they had 4 sons John 1738, David 1740, Andrew 1746 (already mentioned) and James 1750. His great grandparents were James Dods 1675 and Helen Dalsone 1687. They had 6 children Thomas 1713, Andrew 1719 (already mentioned) William 1722, Marion 1724, George 1726 and Helen 1719. His great great grandparents were Robert Dods approx. 1650 and Jean Adinstone approx. 1650. They had 3 children James 1675(already mentioned) and twins Jean and Robert 1673. I am interested in any information about the family members who stayed in Scotland, the siblings of William 1781 and other ancestors. I am quite willing to share the information I have. Thanks-
