Catherine Douglas widow of George died 1921 at Bogangreen Co;dingham and her premature sin died a few days before heis death is recorded as James Docherty or Douglas She was recorded as being an ag labourer. She had 3 children alive margaret, george and John who were 12,5 and 3 years at that time. Do not know where she is buried and may have had a paupers grave

Does anyone have information on TINA CAIRNS from c1900. I have postcards from Tina to my g-uncle GEORGE RICHARDSON (aka Dodd) son of George Richardson and Janet McKay who settled in Meifod, Wales c1872. From the postcards it would seem Tina had a "crush" on George and I wonder if there is any background on the Richardson family.
George Blackie married Margaret THORBURN Daughter of a Farmer Robert THORBURN and wife Mary STEWART.December 1865 at Coldingham, where she was born around 1846. George was born around 1844 Edrom. At time of marriage was a Ploughman living at Leith-holm, Eccles. See Village of Gordon for more details under McDOUGAL. Any information greatly appreciated.

The children included James Johnston, who married Isobel Dickson in Coldingham in 1742. Also seeking Margaret Pae, who married James Steele irregularly at Coldstream and regularly at Coldingham in 1793. I am an Australian descendant of these families.

My 3rd great grandfather, Hugh Simpson, was born in Coldingham, Berwick, in December 1792. He married Isabella Bairnsfather in Duns, Berwickshire, in 1825, and they had seven children - David, Helen, Catherine, William, Archibald, Isabel and Janet. My line is descended from Archibald, who was born in 1837 in Berrywell, Duns, and who married Margaret Rutherford in Duns in 1865. I would like to trace the descendants of the other six children.

Of these children above John FORTUNE married Helen HENRY b:1815 (Cockburnspath) in 1840. Helen died 1864 Weston Coldingham. Their children: Mary FORTUNE b 1842 Coldingham d:1913 Burnfoot, Whittinghame, Catherine FORTUNE(b:1844; died 1897 Parish of Gordon m: William MUNRO (b:1839;m: 1891), Agnes FORTUNE(b:1846;d:1864 Weston, Coldingham, Hugh FORTUNE(b:1852;d:1932 Edinburgh m:1875 to Ann MCDONALD d:1931 Edinburgh)and Margaret FORTUNE b:1855;d:1871. Of these children I am anxious to trace the descendants of Mary FORTUNES children. Mary is my GG Grandmother. Married James BROWN in 1864, they had the following: Helen Henry BROWN (b:1866 Coldingham) William BROWN (my Great Grandfather b:1868 Coldingham), John Fortune BROWN (b:1871 Coldingham), Alice BROWN (b:1873 Cockburnspath) and James BROWN (b: 1876 Cockburnspath) I do not know who my Great Grandfathers siblings married. What we do know is that he left Scotland in 1913 with his wife Margaret Glen BURNS and their children, Margaret was born 1871 in Ayton. Their children accompanied them to Australia in 1913 -John, James, Mary Gilles, Robert Marshall Hume Alice & Helen Henry. Their last son William was born in Australia 1915. From all accounts of family history my Great Grandfathers family did not know that he had immigrated or where he had gone. I would desperately appreciate any information or leads that could help me find lost relatives. I know it was lengthy, thanks for your patience.

William ANDERSON, Elizabeth TODD
William Anderson of Greenwood Farm Coldingham married Elizabeth Todd on the 24/Nov/1786, they had a son born at Coldingham and christened on the 8/Oct/1787, they moved to Longformacus where they had two further children born, both daughters. I have my G.G,Grandfarther William on a memorial stone at Longformacus whose death was 1857 aged 70, his parents who are also on the stone are William Anderson and Elizabeth Todd. There are lots of names on the stone including my G Grandfather George Bell ANDERSON and four ANDERSON'S who went to New Zealand in the 1850/60s. William who married Elizabeth TODD, his parents were George ANDERSON and Janet FLEEMING and George's parents were Thomas ANDERSON and Agnes EDINGTON, would love to hear from any one researching the same families
