He is only mentioned once in the chuch records, (1646 Daniel, son of Daniel baptized)it is believed that he had a son Nicholas also, born 1635, place of origin unknown. As the line of descent goes, it is 1.Daniel Gozzard, 2.Nicholas Gozzard, 3.Able Gozzard 4.Martin Godard, 5.Eli Goddard 6.Martin Goddard 7.Elbert Goddard 8.Lincoln Goddard 9. Merritt Goddard. In researching my ancestors, The Ball family I have found parents to my very great grandmother, Emma Ball, William and Elizabeth Ball, who were married in Kingston Lisle in 1809. George Ball was present at Emma's wedding in 1849. However William remarried at the ripe old age of 80 to a louisa Morris. William H morris was a witness to the marriage. William's mother was buried at Poynings (outer Brighton) in 1832 whilst he was buried beside her in 1874. Hello. I'm Australian and looking for any 'new' info re my Kemp ancestors who i know lived in the region of Hungerford, Chilton Foliat and Leverton. Richard KEMP and wife Christian (nee unknown) came from somewhere yet undetermined in the late 1600's and their children (5) were baptised at St Mary's within dates of 1700 and 1725. This has been confirmed by letter from Wiltshire Archives. John their middle child is my ancestor. His grandson, Henry Kemp, is my great great grandfather, baptised at St Mary's in 1799 and who died in Essex, in 1887. I have a good deal on him especially his middle and later life. He was involved in the liquor and transportation industry going to Kent and Essex from Middlesex; he married in London (almost certain) a lady by the name of Isabella Martha WRIGHT and they had 3 children - i come via their youngest child, George Kemp born in 1840. His only child, George William, born 1885, emigrated to Australia in 1912. I would be joyfully appreciative of any pictorial or other information relating directly to this family line. Desperate for information on Nicholson relatives. My great grandfathers name was George Colville Nicholson, my grandfather had the same name, as did my father. My great grandfather immigrated to the U.S. in the mid to late 1800's. He paid his kings tax until he died. The reason he left England, was because he was the 2nd. son, and had to make his own way in the world. Apparently, his older brother passed away in England without any heirs. Any information would be met with cheers and tears, as I long to know the history of my family. Thank you.

The Lewis family - (Midgham - Berkshire)
James Lewis, born about 1806,married Amy Hide, and lived in Midgham and Thatcham. In 1861 he was the lock-keeper in Midgham. I think that his parents were Richard Lewis (possibly from Aldermaston) and Mary Hamblin, and that he had sisters Sarah, Mary, Latitia, Lucy, Harriet and Jame. I am looking for any connection to my great grandfather Fredrick William Whitehead, he lived in Milton Hill, Berkshire. he was married twice, first wife's name unknown and she died of pneumonia, but they had 4 children: Fredrick William Jr Married Sally, Isabel, Florance & Christine (nicknamed Tine). He then meet and married a Sara Annie Wise, they also lived in Milton Hill, Berkshire and own or managered the Pack Horse Inn. They had 5 children: Dorothy born 1908, Jack born 1910, William Edwards born 1911 (who had a twin brother George who died at birth) and my grand father Roland Perivial born 1914. Fredrick Whitehead was a Mechanic/Inn Keeper, he died 1924 and Sara Annie moved her 5 children out to New Zealand on the 19 Feb 1925 on the ship called the Ionic, own by the Shaw Savill Line. My Whitehead line finishes at my GG father and I was hoping that there was someone out there that may have a connection to this family and can help me go further, if so please feel free to contact me. Can anyone tell me the name of the parish church in Mortimer. My father while writing about his family said that his grandfather & grandmother, Richard & Mary Roake of "The Kennels", Bath Road, Tilehurst, Reading between 1850 and 1900, were buried in a churchyard in Mortimer. He said his grandad Roake lived into his 80's but although I can find many death records of "Richard Roake" I cannot find the one for my great grandad.

I have found a probable baptism for William on 13/6/1779 in Moulsford, but although the 1851 census entry for Frances (in Ashampstead) states that she was born in Moulsford, I cannot find a baptism or parents for her. Also William's parents are probably Joseph and Mary, but I cannot find a marriage for them.

From the 1883 map Northcourt would be outside Abingdon and between the Wooton and Oxford Roads. Would records for Northcourt be at St Helens or St Nicholas at Abingdon? Again any info welcome.
