I'm interested in contacting anyone who has Gortons in their family tree, but particularly those who originated in Shirvenham Berkshire England. My family were mainly agricultural labourers, but seemed to have settled/worked around Shirvenham in Berkshire. My great grandfather George Gorton was born in 1851 at Shrivenham Berkshire England He came to Australia in March 1826 on the ship called "Prince Regent" and married Mary Lane (born about 1805) in 1830 in Sydney NSW Australia.
