I am investigating the family history of Ann ALLEN b. c1839 Compton Berks. She married my G/grandfather Thomas Henry Emmett in August 1865 Whitton Middx. In 1861 Ann was working as a cook at Haw Farm Hampstead Norris Berks. Why did the couple decide to marry in Middx? Any info would be gratefully received. David
John Brooks born around 1801 in Berkshire, lived in Compton Pava in 1841. He married a Mary born about 1806 in Berkshire, and their children were born in Compton. Maria 1826 Elizabeth 1826 Henry 1829 James 1832 and Sarah 1834. James married Sarah Ann MIDDLEMAS from Reading, in 1858 and their children were all born in Compton- William 1859, George 1860, Henry (Harry) 1862, Mary 1867, and John 1871.
