Chapman convict to Australia - (Milton Bryan - Bedfordshire)
Looking for any info about Joseph Chapman born 1792 who lived in Milton Bryan and broke into a mill there, he was sentenced to Death and then the sentence was changed to life imprisonment at Bedford, he was sent to New South Wales Australia on the Larkin in March 1817 arriving there in November 1817, what happened after that I have no idea, he was my 3x Gt Grandfather.

I'm looking into the history of Souldrop. I have the basics but would like to know more about who owned the farms in the village. The 1901 census shows several cottages owned by the Goosey family and my grandmother used to talk of a Goosey Lodge but the only one I know is in Wymington a few miles away. I'm trying to date my grans cottage but each census the name of it seems to change. It's very confusing and there doesn't seem to be a local historian in the area. I've tried BFHS but had no reply and the archive site doesnt have what I want.

Hi, I'm looking for more information about my 5G Grandparents, Thomas Oliver (a Farmer of Flitwick) who was buried at Steppingly on 1st Feb 1805, aged 82, with his first wife Sarah (d. Aug 1762) daughter of Thomas & Mary Cook. Their headstone still stands but is largely unreadable. They had 4 children Sarah, William, James and Thomas. I would like some help in solving a problem regarding the children of Gabriel Snoxell/all b1688 and Mary Horn b c1690, an Infant b 1 Aug 1695 not baptised, Mary baptised 8 Jul 1697, Susan baptised 22 May 1701, Hannah baptised 4 May 1704, Gabriel baptised 29 Nov 1706, Elizabeth baptised 6 Jun 1714 and Edward baptised 8 Jun 1716. Gabriel and Mary were married 2 Jan 1717. all of the above children are listed in Totternhoe baptism records. Due to the ages of both parents the children up to 1706 are unlikley to be theirs, after 1706 it is a possibility, I would like to find the correct parents for all the children. After their marriage in 1717 Gabriel and Mary had children in 1718, 1719, 1723 and 1726. I believe this indicates that there could be two families. any information to clarify this would be most welcome Michael

I'm interested in the Peacock family who lived in Turvey. Edward Peacock and Elizabeth Boddington were married at Turvey on 25 March 1722 and they had several children baptised there. An apprenticeship record for one of the children states that Edward (the father) was a school teacher. I think that some of the children of this family probably stayed around Turvey - others moved to London (the City) and probably elsewhere. I'd love to hear from anyone who can give any more details of this family, descendants, MIs, and parish records (apart from the transcribed index on the various genealogy websites) or if anyone can suggest what school might have employed Edward. Looking for any information on the Green family who lived in Dean 1700s-1800s. I have found Thomas Green, born 1800 in Dean. His parents were Thomas and Mary, but I don't know any more about them. Does anyone know when/ where the elder Thomas was born? Or the maiden name of Mary?

Their Son Levi Stokes(born29/9/1839) married Mary Fletcher who were the parents of James (born 29/9/1877). James married Lillian O'Dell in 1896. My Grandfather, William Stokes was one of their ten children.I have loads of information and copies of certificates etc and photographs.

They married in Sundon 8 May 1847. They emmigrated to Australia in 1847 aboard the SS GILMORE with 3 children and settled on the New South Wales south coast at Milton near Ulladulla where they raised a total of 12 children before moving to the north coast and settling at Knockrow near Byron Bay. They were involved in pioneering the dairy industry.
