red mail William White ?173x-1811
Lived in Woburn, married to Elizabeth Witt, had several children between 1754 and 1770. No evidence of birth, marriage, or Elizabeth's death. Was this the same William White who married Lettice Street in St Clement Danes, Westminster, 1772 - had children between 1773 and 1785. Eldest was Lettice, youngest was Ann Maria. Ann married William Henley of Woburn in 1805 at a time when her father William was ratepayer of the house where William lived (14 Leighton Street) - William's father Andrew took over the tenancy in 1811. Lettice White was William's sister-in-law: she never married, but lived in Brighton the last two decades of her life, near William's son John who had also moved to Brighton. Any information on this White family would be of interest.

red mail William Henley b. 1782
William born 1781 (upholsterer), and his wife Ann (nee White) and their younger son (probably adopted) William Ralph born 1810, all disappear from the records in Woburn some time after 1810. The elder son John Henley (tailor) turns up in Brighton sometime before 1836 when he was accepted into the Salem Chapel as a member. Where were all the family in this 26-years gap - and how did John come to be in Brighton ? William Ralph was born April 1811 only 5 months after John so a different birth mother and adopted? Possible birth mother was Anne Ralph who previously in 1801 had an illegitimate daughter. Any information welcome on the Ralph family! William Henley (same one or different?) also had a son Joseph in 1799 with mother named Mary - unknown surname. Could have been Mary Ralph, Anne's sister. Any information on this Joseph Henley also welcome. In return much information on the Woburn Henley family to share.
