in the late 16th century it seems our surname was changed from Swinglehand to swingland.Possibly by William who died 1n 1592.He had a brother John and I would like to know if anyone knows of him. Swinglehand was the name of an agricultural tool used in flax production.

I am looking for anything known of the Shipman family of Milton Ernest. Espescially the family of a Mary Shipman, born c1813, of whom I have no knowledge so far. She married a Samuel Burch in 1830, at St Mary Le Strand London. I am descended via her daughter, Mary Ann Eliza Burch, my GG Grandmother, so any info would be a plus.

Looking for ancestors of Edward Hart, born about 1756 in Milton Ernest, or possibly nearby. There is a settlement document showing an Edward Hart and his wife Mary moving from Riseley to Milton Ernest in 1757 - possibly this is my Edward's parents? But I can find no record of his birth in either parish. Does anyone know of any Harts near those places?
Any information appreciated on Matthew Andrew and Robert Young Andrew both of Milton Ernest, or family. Matthew born 1891, Robert 1893 and both served Bedfordshire Yeomanry c 1912 to 1919
