JESSIE JACKSON, (daughter of ABRAM JACKSON of Girvan) married JOHN MCNEILLY (son of WILLIAM, brother of ALEXANDER MCNEILLY of Glasgow and/or Ayr) in 1879 in Grenada, West-Indies. We are looking for info on Abram Jackson & familie and William McNeilly& familie. The brothers John & Alexander McNeilly went to Grenada around 1875 as representatives of Thomson Hankey and Company of London. About Jessie Jackson, we know the following: Jessie was from Old Daly, Ayrshire and was born in Girvan Way, Croshill. She was an Evangelist with a preacher named Powell in Glasgow, where she met John McNeilly. She may have worked in a baker's shop at Charing Cross. She had a brother Abraham, a brother Jim, and a sister. Through John McNeilly's granddaughter RUTH LEEDHAM, who married a MCMILLAN, an existing McMillan family in Glasgow may be related to all of the above.
