red mail MACKAY, Elizabeth, 1898-1980, Argyll, Scotland
Looking for information on, and descendants of, Elizabeth Mackay of Oban, Argyll, Scotland. Parents were Alexander Mackay, 1856-1936, born in Scotland, and Edith Helen Burns, 1862-1946, born in Canada. Connie
I am looking for information with regard to, or for the descendants of, Kate, (Catherine), Neil and Roderick who were all born in Oban in the early 1900's. They were children of Alexander and Rachel ( m.n. Macleod) and there were two other sons, Hugh who was my Grandad and Alexander who died in infancy. I believe that Kate may have married a Robert Miller Russell and that Neil married a Mary Thomson. It is possible that Roderick married a Lillian Harriett Cann in Southend, England. If I am on the right track, Kate died in Paisley in 1970. Neil married in Dalmally . He died in Oban in 1982 (last address 52 Soroba Road) and his wife Mary died in1996 ( last address Carraig Thura Retirement Home, Loch Awe). Although his wife died in Southend in 1964, Roderick appears to have returned to Scotland and died in Paisley in 1977. I don't know if any of them had any children. If anyone has any info I would be delighted to hear from you.

red mail Colin Anderson Family
Colin Anderson of Oban, Argyllshire emigrated to the USA sometime between 1825-1860? This is just a estimate based on a son's birth in 1864. After he emigrated, I am unsure of where he first settled, but I believe his wife was born in New York. He was a minister of the Methodist faith and was quite instrumental in establishing the church in California. He was my great-great grandfather. I would like to be able to find out anything on his birth family, mother, father and any siblings. His family is still all in the Roseville, Calif. area where he eventually settled, although his ministry took him up and down California as he was a minister that traveled from church to church in early California.
