red mail McCord, McCourt, MacCuarta, etc. - (Springfield, near Belfast - County Antrim)
Desperately searching for anyone who may be familiar with McCord history. I have long given up on finding a direct family ancestor and am settling for anyone who may know of any of their McCord ancestors, anywhere in northern Ireland, of whom, some member left to migrate to the North American British colonies in the early 1700's. I know this is asking a lot. I know that few records exist. My family line starts with John McCord of Hanover, PA. about 1720. His wife is unknown. I know that he came to the colonies from Ireland, as I have a record of him still speaking Irish and teaching in the "old Irish way". His ancestors may have resided in Derry, in the 1600-1700, however in earlier generations, they may have been in the Scots-Lowlands (Wigtownshire or Ayrshire). Would love to find someone to communicate with who doesn't mind history or knows who are the McCords. thank you, kathleen
