red mail Wright/Gt. gt. grandparents
My Gt.Gt. grandparents were Samuel Wright and Charlotte Hoy. born 1841 & 1844 respectively, were married in Killead on 31st July 1862. Both their fathers were named William. They moved to Scotland then to Hartlepool, Co. Durham, after 1881 I can find no trace of them. Has anyone knowledge of any part of this family?
red mail Thomas McBurney and Sarah Gilchrist
I'm looking for information about the family of Thomas McBurney who married Sarah Gilchrist in 1766 and died 1773. Sarah and their children (James, Barbara, Elizabeth and Thomas) emigrated to America in 1784 and settled initially in Northampton County, Pennsylvania. James and Thomas subsequently settled in Steuben County, New York. James McBurney had a cousin, John Beattie from County Antrim, who later came to Steuben County, New York along with his wife Eliza. I'm interested in learning more about the ancestral histories of the McBurney, Gilchrist and Beattie families in Northern Ireland.
