John HUDSON was born c1819 (probably Ireland) and died 1875 in Casheltown, Portglenone, Ireland. He married Eliza CHESNEY 1843 at Grange of Ballyscullion. As far as I know there was only one son, David born 1844 at Casheltown, Portglenone and who married in 1875 to Mary McCLURE at 1st Presbyterian Church at Ahoghill. I think John's parents were John and Jean HUDSON but I would like to prove if I am correct. Any help with this family would be much appreciated.

I am looking for information on the ship James and Nancy Kelly Young came to America on in 1768. They settled the town of Springfield in New York State. I have been unable to determine the name of the ship but have the church letter of introduction they brought with them which is dated 5/14/1768 so they left shortly after that date. They came with their children and one sister.

I am looking for any information on my great great great ect. grandparents. James Young was born on the Bann river about 1740 . He had one sister that we know of but no name to go with her or his parents. He married Nancy Kelly in 1756 or 57 and they had 5 children born in Portglenone (Francis, Mary,Robert,John and Jane. In 1768 they moved to America and were the 3rd family to settle the town of East Springfield New York. Would like info on Nancy's family to. Her brothers and sisters are as follows (John, Jean, Rose, Sarah, Eleanor,Millie and Margaret. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you Patricia

Looking for information regarding the parents and family of John Johnston and Mary McCullagh registered as parents of Samuel Johnston bn 18.12.1872 at Portglenone, Ballymena. The 1931 Certified Copy of his birth certificate shows the 'informant' as '' the mark of '' Jane Johnston, nfd I believe that they also had a daughter Elizabeth bn c1870. Samuel moved to Scotland, married Helen Jane Millar in Greenock and subsequently settled in Dumbarton. Official documentation in Scotland shows Mary's surname recorded as McCullough, obviously a variation of her name. The Johnston family added a 'e' to the name in the mid 1940's. Family folklore has it that the Johnston's owned farmland in or around Portglenone.

Bernard Diamond earned his V.C in the Indian Mutiny wars of 1857/8. He married a widow in 1854 named Mary Collins, maiden name either Marlow or Martin. Her family from County Down. They emigrated to New Zealand in 1875 and settled eventually in Masterton New Zealand. They had 3or4 children born to them in India Are there any descendants of Bernard Diamond's family left in Ireland?

Appears Thomas never returned to Ireland. Traced John (later Sir John) to Aust 1814 and Mary to Aust 1838. Believe Jane married McKemry or McKinney in Ireland before 1811. My Gt Grandfather Robert Coulter married Helen (or Ellen) Burnside c 1864 and lived in or around Portglenone before moving the family to Scotland in late 1890's.They had at least 8 children between 1865 - 1884 being Mary Ann : Maria: : Hugh :Charles : Robert : Maggie : Joseph and my Grandfather John William Coulter who was born on 16/01/1871 in Casheltown,Portglenone. I know that Helen's parents were a William Burnside and a Molly Miller but my Gr Grandfather's Scottish death cert. does not show who his parents were.If anybody has any information about either the Coulter or Burnside families I would be very grateful. Looking for any information on John Purse who married Nancy McConnell on 16 Sep 1861. His father was Jonathan Purse and mother Margaret Ann. John and Nancy moved to Scotland soon after marriage and had 3 children, William 1862, Samuel 1869 and Peggy Ann 1871. Nancy and two of the children Samuel and Peggy Ann died in 1873 of fever. Researching McCartney family in Portglenone, Antrim. Henry McCartney (, d.1911?), married Ann McCaw (, d.1901), in December 1847. Henry's father was Andew McCartney, Ann's father was Alexander McCaw. The McCartneys were shoemakers, the McCaws were weavers. Henry had at least two sons: James, b.1852, and Henry, b.1860, also shoemakers. James and his wife Mary Leitch had many children, including Ann (b.1874), Henry (b. 1875), Mary (b.1877), James (b.1879), Rose Ann (b.1881), Thomas Andrew (b.1896), and John, William, Andrew, Robert and Margaret (dates unknown).
