George W Rawles
This is a longshot but I was wondering if anyone can find me any information on GWRawles from about 1869 to 1879. He may have worked in Glenarm? He was a tailor. Anything would be helpful. How to search any Glenarm records?
I am searching for any known descendants of John WILSON (b. 1869) and Jane ROBINSON (b. 1877) married in Glenarm, Teckmacrevan, Antrim on 9 June 1896. John was a farmer at Castle, The Braid and son of John WILSON. Jane was a resident at Tamnabreck, The Braid and daughter of Joseph ROBINSON. They had at least 4 children: Elizabeth - (b.1897), Isabella (b. 1899), Joseph, my father (b. 1904) in Culleybackey, Ballymena, John (b.1911). In the 1911 Census John was a quarryman/labourer and they lived at 2 Doonan, Glencloy, Teckmacrevan, Antrim. My father Joseph, emigrated to Toronto, Ontario, Canada in May/June of 1924 at the age of 20. My father was a member of the Imperial Grand Chapter of Black Knights, Preceptory #794 encamped at Buckna, Antrim. In 1924, his father John was living in Carnalbanagh, Owen Doughty, Broughshane. This is the last known address of his father. My father Joseph died in Guelph, Ontario, Canada on June 19, 1950 when I was 7 years old. I do not know when or where John or Jane died. I would like to hear from anyone who knew or knows of my father's WILSON/ROBINSON family. Phoebe
red mail Lindsay, Brown
I would like to discover any info. on the poss. marriage of George Lindsay to Maria Palmer circa.1879 at St.Patrick's church Glenarm, also to discover info on their son George who emigrated to Otago Province N. Zealand with his brother William James who subsequently died in France in Sept. 1916. I have no idea if George was married or single or of his whereabouts after W.W.1 Finally I would like to know the whereabouts of their younger son Robert John's future wife Mary or Margaret Brown of Glenarm prior to her marriage as she is not mentioned on the 1911 census as living in Glenarm although her father and younger sister are. I believe she and/or Robert (my grandfather) had connections with Holywood nr.Belfast as I believe that my father and one of his sisters were christened there. Mary/Margaret died young(about 30-35yrs. of age) in the Flu epidemic following W.W.1
