red mail Mann Provost of Arbroath
Does anyone know the names and dates of office of Arbroath Provosts of the 18th and early 19th century? The name I am interested in is Mann - I know there was a John Mann who was Provost from 1744-1749 (except for 1747) - he was my 5th Great grandfather - but also that at some point there was also a Provost Alexander Mann, who was born about 1781. I am not sure if this Alexander Mann was a descendant or relation of John's, and as there are a lot of Manns in Arbroath with the same christian names, it is a bit confusing!
