red mail DOWNIE, JEAN 1739 Aberdeenshire; married with SIM, Peter.
Here's some details I've acquired; Jean married with Peter who was surnamed SIM, and they had a daughter Jean, who married with MORGAN, John, in December I can't remember which year exactly. They had a daughter called MORGAN, Isobel. She would marry GAULD, James. Jean's biological parents are these. NOBLE, Margaret and SIM, William, or thus it would seem. 1 source Jean Downie Birth: dd mm 1739 - Aberdeenshire, Scotland Marriage: date - city, Aberdeenshire, Scotland Spouse: Peter Sim F: William Downie M: Margaret Noble
red mail SIM, Jean, 1773. Married with MORGAN, John. Date unknown currently.
Hi, was searching out the above named person. Think her actual parents were PETER and his spouse DOWNIE, Jean. Though can't be certain, as details are somewhat a little contradictory, and I have also a CHRISTIE, Elspet, occasionally come up who may be a match on the mother side. There don't seem to be very many records which I can trust. Jean (this would be SIM who married MORGAN) had a daughter called ISOBEL with her spouse John. And later Isobel would marry GAULD, James. Any help would be much appreciated, guys!
red mail GAULD, John, 1720
GAULD, John, 1720 the son of George and Isobel, and the father to James. John lived in between 1720 and UNKNOWN. He was the son of GAULD, George, and his mother was MARISCHOL, Isobel, and I don't have the dates of either oh them, though I presume late c17. Marischol could have had parents called 'Keith' as the names seem interchangeable in other public member trees. The most information I have is on James. James Gauld Birth 5 Jan 1735 in Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire, , Scotland Death 27 Jan 1809 in Kildrummy, Aberdeenshire, , Scotland Edit He seems to have married with BONNYMAN, Anne, and GAIRN, Elizabeth; however, this remains dubious as Ann would have been very old when she had the kids with James, so I am not too sure about this. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance!
red mail MORGAN, William, (1708)- the son of James and Elspet.
Was looking to attain information on the above named person; he was the father to MORGAN, David, in 1740 with a lady UNKNOWN, and was the son to ANDERSON, Elspet, and MORGAN James. Any help would be much greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

red mail Alexander Gordon & daughter Elizabeth Gordon
Seeking anyone with knowledge of Elizabeth Gordon, b. abt 1775, daughter of Alexander Gordon of Aberdeen. Elizabeth gave birth to a daughter, Mary Gordon, abt 1803 in Aberdeen (not sure if the city or Aberdeenshire - no birth record found). Sometime after Mary's birth, Elizabeth met William Brumwell, a Surgeon in Newcastle Upon Tyne, England. With him she had 3 children out of wedlock (the first, Elizabeth Gordon Brumwell, was born 22 Sept 1804 in Newcastle, followed by Jane Brumwell 1807 & Anne Brumwell 1809). On 3 July 1810 Elizabeth married William Brumwell. The marriage record states that Elizabeth was the daughter of "Alexander Gordon of Aberdeen", which is the only hint of her provenance that I have. She subsequently had three more children with Dr. William Brumwell (which sometimes appears as Brummell): Catherine (my GG-GM, b. 1810; William 1813 & John 1815. Elizabeth's daughter, Mary Gordon, seems to have married a man by the surname "Henry". She shows up in the 1851 England census (civil parish of Newcastle Upon Tyne All Saints) as Mary Henry, age 48 (b. abt 1803) in Aberdeen. She is with her mother, Elizabeth Brumwell, age 76, (b. abt 1775) in Aberdeen. Both women were widowed and their occupation shown as "staymaker." Any information about Alexander, Elizabeth or Mary Gordon's origins in Aberdeen or Aberdeenshire greatly appreciated.

red mail James Bruce & Mary Jane Smith
Looking for any information on my great grandparents. The info I currently have on them is very little and I live in the US so doing physical research is out of the question until at least October 2011. My gran was born in 1927 in Glasgow and her name was Grace Bruce, her parents were James Bruce and Mary Jane Smith. Grace had a twin that dies at a very young age and had 7 remaining brothers and sisters. I was told Bruce/Smith came from Aberdeenshire and possibly even cousins and at least one of the families had a farm. Their families were farmers but the farms was not enough to support all the sons so James became a train driver. Maryjane worked in the kitchen of a hotel in Glasgow. On a 1901 Scotland Census, James Bruce is listed as a Farmers son so this does match the story I was given. I have found some family trees on that list a James Bruce and Mary J Smith from Aberdeenshire but no records of children. My aunt says they definitely came from Boddam in Aberdeenshire. A previous tip I have received: marriage in Glasgow on 30 Nov 1917, James's parents being James Bruce and Mary Robertson (may have married Old Deer, Aberdeenshire in 1880); Mary's parents William Smith and Margaret Foreman (may have married Boddam, Aberdeenshire 1887). " All these tips sound good but I just need to confirm if this couple did in fact have children and what their names are. Thanks in advance!

I am researching my grandfather RUSSELL JOCK MACMILLAN. He came to Australia aged 7years. He was born in 1899 and claimed that he was from Aberdeen Scotland, however I am unable to locate any records of him, other that his Australian War Service records for World War 2. He served in the 51 Batallion in the Far North Queensland Regiment. He is listed in the Australian Electoral Roll in 1930 and no other record of him seems to exist.
