Am searching for any information on William James Carter, born around 1866-72 (in Canada) but lived around the Woodside area. His wife was Helen Agnes Booth born Old Deer 1872. Also looking for info on Norah McArthur who lived with the Carter family. William had 2 sons, William James, and Albert (my father). He was also at some time in the Gordon Highlanders Regiment. On my father's birth record it says his father, alexander, was born in woodside around 1865 or so. He was a stonecutter. Around 1883 he was sent to the U.S. because he was caught poaching. My Grandmother, Alice Moir, was from Aberdeen. We do not know if there were married there or U.S. Looking for ANY info.

researching family history and have reached an Alexander Keith (born about 1822), Henry Barron Keith (1818-1847), their parents John Keith and Isabel McKenzie, and a sister of John called Elizabeth or Isa. (John Keith possibly married a Margaret Walker or had children by her - Grace (born 1819) and John (died 1824)). John was manager of a mill works.
