I am looking for any information about Booth/Carter families who lived around Old Deer, Woodside, Aberdeen. My grandmother was Helen Agnes Booth, her mother was Isabella Booth. Looking for further datails on William Simpson, farmer, of Auchtylair, Old Deer who married Margaret Barron of Hill or Mill of Skelmuir, Old Deer in 1834. His parents were Alexander Simpson born about 1764 - 70, and Ann Daniel from Cruden. They married in Cruden in 1792. Ann was born either in 1763 to William Daniel in Collyhill, Gask, or in 1768 to a John Daniel in Aldie, both places in the parish of Cruden. Alexander may have been born in 1768 in Slains to William Simpson, mother's name unknown. Margaret Barron's parents were John Barron and Margaret Youngson. In 1841 John Barron was farming in Brucehill, New Deer, he was born in 1786. Margaret Youngson was born in 1790 in Auchnavon, New Deer to William Youngson and Isabel Shirar.

Searching for information, dates etc... of my Great Great Grandfather who was a chemist/drugstore owner in Aberdeen. He had a child with Jane Brooks from Old Deer in 1867. She later married a Mackie and she and family emigrated to New Zealand by ship 'Kaikoura' approximately 1890. I would like to find out more of this family.

Agnes Adie born 1 june 1861, South Auchmachar Old Deer, I have her parents as William Adie and Sarah Ferguson. I think I got information from her gravestone in Old Deer Cemetery- not Churchyard. I'm researching the family of James Will and Janet Porteous who married at Whitekirk Midlothian in 1850, lived on the Seacliff Estate near North Berwick and then eventually moved to Edinburgh.
