green mail Looking for information on my great great grandfather Daniel Grant Herb... PENNSYLVANIAs, (STATE) Commonwealth of, Pennsylvania
I'm searching for information on the Herb family, but most especially for Daniel Grant Herb born 1835-1840 in Upper Mahanoy, Pennsylvania. He was married to Mary Sponsler (Sponcellor; Sponsaylor; Sponseller...)born in 1842. On the 1860 census he is listed with his wife 'Cath' and children: Mary; Emma; Catherine & Lydia. On the 1870 census he is listed with wife 'Mary' and children: Emma; Catherine; Lydia A. ; Janna (Joanna); Maria and Daniel G (Grant). They lived in Reinerton, Schuylkill, Pennsylvania. I would really like to know the parents of the older Daniel and if he was indeed married twice. Once to Catherine and then to Mary. Or was her name Maria Catherine Sponsler and she went by one or the other. Her baptism in the church records only show 'Maria'. Her parents names were: Henry Sponsler and Catharina (Miller). Her mother's maiden name is given on her(Maria Sponsler Herb) funeral information in the church registry. Thank you in advance

green mail Henry Retallack & Isabella Scott PENNSYLVANIAs, (STATE) Commonwealth of, Pennsylvania
In my family tree there is record of a Henry Retallack, b abt 1874, `Pennsylvania America`. By the time the 1881 UK census was taken Henry and his family were back in Sunderland, Co Durham, England. The 1881 census has recorded their surname as `Battalack`. Henry`s parents were Henry Retallack, b abt 1844, St Austell, Cornwall, England and Isabella Scott, b abt 1850, Sunderland, Co Durham, England. Their daughter, Charlotte, b abt 1871, Sunderland probably crossed the pond with them. However, Henry & Isabella had two other daughter`s, Alice, b abt 1878, and Isabella, b abt 1879, Sunderland, which means their stay in America was limited to (max) 1871-1878. Any help very much appreciated
