Seeking the descendants of Joseph Augustin Pyle. He was born in Devon UK 1860 to Thomas Sellers Pyle and Mary Ann Hicks. He was last known to be living in San Francisco in June 1884. I would love to know what happened to him.

I am interested in any information relating to a Louis (or Ludwig) Cranz who arrived in New York from Bremen (Germany) in 1866. He applied for naturalization in San Francisco in 1875. Louis married a Katarina Boettcher (maiden name - Schlichtmann) in Alameda in 1878. Katarina had a son, Frank (b. 1874) from her previous marriage (August Boettcher). Louis adopted Frank in 1889, and Frank graduated from the School of Dentistry at UC Berkeley in 1896.

I am interested in any information relating to a Zenas, Mary (nee Warner), Alexander and Justina Rennie who arrived in San Francisco from Australia circa 1903. The family were originally from Massachusetts, but emigrated to Australia around 1886. Zenas returned to Australia following the 1906 earthquake, but his wife (Mary) and two children remained in San Francisco. Justina (b. Sydney in 1891) married a Louis Cranz (b. San Francisco in 1896) in Redwood City in 1917. They had two sons, Frank (b. 1918) and Robert (b. 1919). Alexander Rennie (b. Springfield MA, 1886) married a Mabel Sullivan circa 1911, and in 1920 they were living in Sacramento with their daughter Patricia (b. 1916), but later the family moved to southern California (Beverley Hills).

Richard Herring b 1841 St Martin in the Field, Middlesex, ENG settled in Chicago, Ill with his wife Eliza (nee Rawlings) and children (Henry John, Richard and Frederick William) in 1867. He was a cabinetmaker. Three more children were born into this family (Elizabeth, Charles and Annie) before Richard moved to San Francisco in 1876. Richard must have been successful in business as he purchased a property in Precita Ave for $2000 on arrival. Another daughter (Gertrude) was born in 1878. He established the Herring Mill Work and Office Fittings company which bought out many less efficient milling companies. Herring Mills Inc. grew in size and importance with Richard taking a 'back seat' and spreading his interests to non-work activities. He died on 26 October 1913. I am interested in contacting descendants of Richard Herring.

James lived in San Francisco and had two daughters called Bernice and Evelyn. Ella married a Frederick Marolf and had two daughters Beatrice and Eleanor .Maud married ? Peterson and had one son. Looking for relations of brothers' Rodger, Michael and James Margey who emigrated from Donegal, Ireland late 1800's. They are 3 of the 7 children of Henry and Hannah (Friel) Margey. Rodger married Mary (Crossan) Margey 1886 in Donegal emigrated 1890. No children. Rodger died 1935 and Mary died 1934. Michael married Alice (Bassett) Margey in S.F. 1887. They had 4 children; Harry, Bessie, Alice I. and Gertrude. Michael died 1945 and Alice died 1906. James married Celia (Davis, born in Ire.) Margey 1889 in S.F. They had 2 children Rodger J. and Mary Evelyn. James died 1939 and Celia in 1909. Anyone connected to the above please contact me.

Abraham and brother Nathan Goldstein came to Oroville from Kempen in 1850 marrying Sara Rose Goldberg of New York (parents Caroline Abrahams and Isaac G. of London) and Ernestina Asher of Kempen. Owning shops in the Goldstein Building, they moved to San Francisco around 1910. Their offspring married Morse, Katz, Raphael, Peshon, Shirek, Jacobson, Davis, Ephraim, Wein, Moore, Woodfield, and English.
Seeking info/descendent of John JEFFRESS (b c1824 Deptford, England) and Elizabeth KENNEDY (b c1827 Glasgow, Scotland). Jeffress family emigrated to Sydney, Australia in 1840. John and Elizabeth with children Mary Elizabeth and Thomas William moved to San Francisco c1850 and had a further 8 children between 1852-1871 born mainly in San Francisco. Agnes Wylie, Robert, James Vigilance, John Kennedy, George Henry, Walter Ferdinand, Alexander Mitchell, Egbert Jodson.
