BOSLEY. A little place among the hills, it looks across the fields to a reservoir with all the attractiveness of a lake, having an island with a cluster of firs. The church among the trees was made new towards the end of the 18th century, but it has still its quaint and ancient tower, which is older than Agincourt. It has a few odd little men carved on it. The old pulpit is on a wooden pillar, and there is an old oak chest.

The King's England, Cheshire (1938) by Arthur Mee. Original transcription by CuriousFox, edited for watermarking purposes.
