I'm seeking to find some information about my 3x Great Grandparents,John GRIFFIN (C1788-C1838) South Tipperary,and Mary KENNEDY (C1789-1840), South Tipperary. They came from Clonoulty Parish,and had 4 children that I know of all born there.-1. My 2x Great Grandfather,John GRIFFIN (1804-1876).2.Patrick born 1807.3.Margaret (Peggy) (1809-1896).4.Julia b. and d. details unknown. John Griffin married Ellen O'Keeffe from Cahir and emigrated to Australia in 1841 on the ship the "Gilmore."They settled in Kilmore,Victoria and had 7 children.Patrick was baptised 18 March 1807,other details unknown.Margaret (Peggy) married Michael Quinlan,migrated to Australia also,died 1896 Kilmore Victoria.Julia married Edmond Dwyer (1805-1891) in Clonoulty Parish on 2nd March 1824.They had 4 children all born in Clonoulty Parish and did emigrate to Australia at some stage after 1845.. Winifred (1834-1904) died at Kilmore;Kate born 1836 died USA; Michael born 1838 died ?? No details,and Edmond "Ned" (1845-1917) Kilmore, Victoria.I don't know anything about Mary KENNEDY at all;if anyone has any knowledge about these families I would love to hear from you.

I am searching for information about the family of MATHIAS MAHER (married Margaret Maher) apparently born in Cachel, Tipperary in 1796. He was transported to Australia per Earl of St Vincent around 1820. I am interested to find out about his family in IRELAND. Visiting Ireland in 2011.

Can anybody help me with information about John Thomas Maher who I think would have been born in Tipperary in about 1770. I believe he may have been a surgeon and that he married Mary Gore. They had a son Mathias Maher, born in Cashel in 1796, who was transported to Australia in 1820.

Hi, I am looking for information on my ancestors. Edmund Ryan born abt 1823- Ballydoyle (son of Edmund, not sure of mother's name- cannot read it properly on ship manifest) was married to Margaret Tracy born Ballydoyle (parents Patrick and Ellen)(born abt 1826(or Treacy) - not sure of spelling. Their children at the last known time of them living in Boherlahan were Patrick (born abt 1842), Ellen (born abt 1845), Mary (born abt 1847), Margaret (born abt 1850) and Catherine (born abt 1853). They emigrated to Australia in 1854 on the ship "Switzerland". Unfortunately Catherine died during the voyage aged 1. I know that Margaret had a sister Ellen who lived in Australia at the time of their emigration. Not sure when she came to Australia.

Alice FREESE/FRIEZE, my great grandmother born about 1834, in Cashel, Tipperary, emigrated to Australia on the 'John Knox' as an Irish Famine Orphan in 1850. Her father was William Freese, a cooper, her mother Margaret PURTELL/PURCELL. Alice had at least two brothers John and James. Does anyone know anything about this family or their descendants? Very important to me.

Known Children Mary Frances Donoghue and Catherine Donoghue. Mary married Michael Joseph Costigan from Tipperary in Islington in 1862, and Michael and Mary along with Catherine sailed to Queensland on the Prince Consort in 1864. Love to hear from anyone with information.
