BREWER family OLDRIDGE family
Does anyone have any information about Edward BREWER? He is listed as living in Weston Super Mare in 1891 and was a cab proprietor. The family had moved to Aston, Birmingham before the 1901 Census, where he was listed as a baker, as was his son, Albert BREWER, who married my great aunt, Ethelinda OLDRIDGE in Weston Super Mare in 1902. Her father , William Mitchell OLDRIDGE was a GWR engine driver. The BREWER family and the OLDRIDGE family seem to have lived near to each other around 1880s in Weston Super Mare, where presumably Albert and Ethelinda met. I wonder if they might have met at school though, because by 1901 Ethelinda was living and working back in Cardiff, where she was born, but they must have kept in touch. I'm trying to piece together what seems to have been a long distance romance. I would be grateful for any information. Thanks. Roma.

My Uncle George William Morris born Gateshead in about 1892, and married Mary Ann Maghie born in 1893 in Gateshead. They married in about 1917 and had two daughters born in Gateshead, Nora in 1918, and Jennie in 1923. George William died in 1959 in Weston Super Mare and his wife Mary Ann died in 1981 also in Weston Super Mare. Trying to find descendants of George and William. And how and why he ended up in Weston Super Mare.

Does anyone have information on the property that sat between Dauncey's and the Anchor Hotel in 1939? It may or may not have been called the Wyndham? I am researching the Hotel proprietress of No.15 who appears on the 1939 register. I believe this to be a small scale hotel or even bed and breakfast accommodation. Any information on the owner calling herself Mary Martin Brown, old adverts or electoral list entries from 1939 would be a great help. Many thanks, Julie

red mail Charles Joseph Shorney
I am interested in tracing any relatives of Charles Joseph Shorney (b.1889;Cannington)who died, aged 22yrs, on the Titanic & was my grandfather's uncle or cousin. His father, Austin Shorney (b.1855;Cannington)& immediate family lived in Herons Ghyll, Uckfield, E.Sussex at the time of his death in 1912. There are family connections with Weston-Super-Mare, Bridgewater & Cannington but I am in quite early stages of my research at the moment. Any info anyone might have would be gratefully received.
