red mail Johnson Thaxted Debden Newport Essex
I would like to hear from anyone researching or with knowledge of this family. I am not sure from where the family came before this and am "stuck". Any help much appreciated. John Johnson, born c1760, died c1831, was a farmer in Newport, Essex, England. His known siblings were Thomas born c1770? who married Elizabeth Bass at Debden in 1789, Elizabeth who married James Wright at Thaxted in 1803, Mary who married Samuel Bass at Thaxted in 1800 and another sister referred to in John's will of 1830 as "my late sister Bacon". I am not sure whether John b1760 married, although he may have married a Moore, unless he was using the term "in-law" very loosely in his will as he refers to Henry, James and John Moore as brothers-in-law and also to his sisters-in-law Susannah Hayden and Sarah Holloway. A Susannah Moore married a George "Haiden" at Debden in 1779 (IGI). I have not found a marriage for Sarah, although the IGI has all five of these Moore siblings as the children of Robert Moore and Ann Stanley of Debden. John b1760 left his farm to his nephew, his brother Thomas's son, who was also called John born c1799 at Debden according to census returns. Thomas also had a daughter Ann born 1800. Both of these children were baptised at Thaxted Independent (IGI). Ann married Charles Debnam, clockmaker of Newport.

red mail Wisbey Family
Looking for any information about Wisbey family, resident in Thaxted Essex circa 1840, particularly Samuel Wisbey bc1828. Appears to be living with a Laydon Hollingworth in the 1841 census. Marries a Frances ??? not sure when. Moves to East End of London between 1850 and 1860. Had criminal records in his 20s and may have been involved in a local poaching gang.

red mail INGRAM
Looking for any information about the family of John Ingram who in 1881 was running the Sun Inn in Mill End, Thaxted. He had died by 1891 but his wife Sarha and two daughters had moved to Town Street and his son Tom was living with his family in Mill End. Any information about the family or the Sun Inn would be welcome.

red mail Bass family
I have traced my gt gt grandmother to Susan Bass b 1851 Thaxted d 1919 West Ham. She married Edmund Johnson b 1843 Romford but I haven't a date of marriage. I believe her parents were John Bass b c 1806 and Elizabeth Crow b c 1806 ( married 1842 Dunmow). I'm hoping someone may be able to confirm the births of her parents and would be grateful for any more information on the Bass family and the Crow family if anyone has access to parish records. Thank you

red mail Charlotte Cavil-Baker-Bass Stanbrook near Thaxted
Charlotte Bass lived in Stanbrook near Thaxted, died 1903 aged over 80. William Bass (a widower) was her second husband from 1860, James Baker her first husband from 1840. She was born a Cavil, daughter of James Cavil, a gardener (sometimes spelled Cavill or Caville) and had several Baker children. I think her sister was Mary who first married a Hollingsworth and then a Henry Moore, and I believe she was a realtion of Susan Cavil who married John Unwin. I'd be interested in hearing from anybody who would like to share any information on these families.
