Archibald Whiteford born abt 1819 in Argyll married 1. 1849 Flora McLeod born Raasay abt 1823. Their children were Alexander Whiteford bn abt 1850 Strath and probably named after Archibalds father, Anne bn abt 1853 in Portree, John bn abt 1854 Kintail Ross & Cromarty and Archibald bn 24 April 1856 also Kintail. Archibald married 2. Mary MacDougall 31 Aug 1858 in Portree. Their children were Margaret Ann Bn 23 aug 1859 Clachan Raasay, Alexander bn 11 Feb 1861 Raasay, Archibald 24 Jun 1865 Portree, Donald bn 19 Jul 1866 Portree. Families the Whitefords later married into included Peacock, McIntyre and MacLeod. (Donald a piper in the Seaforth Highlanders married Bella MacLeod on 1 Feb 1902 in Portree.) Their children were Dugald Machlachlan Whiteford bn 29 Nov 1903 Portree, Alexander bn abt 1905 Portree and John Archibald 1906 died 25 Nov 1908. I would be very pleased to swap information with anyone interested in this family. Archibalds brother James Whiteford emigrated from Campbeltown to Melbourne.

I would like to gather information regarding Duncan McInnes (MacInnes). He was born on the Isle of Sky, Scotland c1826. He married Ann Morrison in Snizort, Isle of Sky, Scotland, in 1849. The ship the "Georgana" arrived at Point Henry, Victoria, Australia, in 1852.

Looking for information on the family of Charles McLean (MacLean) and Mary Morrison who lived in Collimore on lots 21 and 26. Mary was Charles third wife and probably grew up Gilenmore. Charles was married first to Catherine MacKinnin and then to Jane MacDonald. Charles died and Mary left for the USA or Canada about 1852 with all the children except the eldest.

Looking for information on Margaret Graham nee MacLean daughter of Charles MacLean and Catherine McKinnon. Margaret's entire family left about 1852. Margaret married John Graham (who also may have lived in Coillimore) in 1846 and she is the only family that remained in Scotland.

Looking for Alexander McDonald born about 1811, who married Marion McLean, born about 1819. They immigrated to Nova Scotia, Canada, where they raised their children. Children were: Catherine,b 1846; John,b 1849; Donald, b 1852; Duncan, b 1855; Mary Jane, b 1857; Annie, b 1861. These dates are + or - 2 years, as the census does'nt seem accurate. Annie's headstone has her being born in 1867, not 1861. Any and all info on Alexander and Marion welcome!!!!!
