red mail Local History - Heckmondwike
I have previously mentioned visiting my Uncle Fred Ibbetson in WEST STREET, Heckmondwike in the 1960s. I now know that the street no longer exists. However, I have since discovered that my GG Grandfather, Charles Lindsay, had a grocer's shop also on West Street in 1871. Does anybody have any historical information about Heckmondwike with any mention of Lindsay's shop?

Rachel had 6 siblings that I know of, Samuel 1837, Mary 1839, Elizabeth 1846, Eliza Ann 1847, Charlotte 1848 and Thomas George 1850. The parents of Rachel and her siblings were Thomas Berry born 1813 in Heckmondwike and Charlotte Cordingley born 1817 in Birstall. I know Thomas had 11 siblings and his parents were Daniel Berry b 1780 in Heckmondwike and Mary Popplewell b 1782 in Birstall. I am looking for any descendents of members of the Berry family in order to exchange information.
