red mail HAMILTON, Gavin, (1773), and, SCLATER, Martha, (1777).
Gavin was from Glasgow, Martha was from Paisley. They had a son, John, circa 1801 Glasgow Lanarkshire Scotland, and he'd marry NEIL, Jean, with whom they'd have a daughter named Isabella, and then granddaughter Lavinia Campbell Mullins. I think Gavin may have been the son of David and his spouse HALL, Sarah, though I am unsure of this as the public member tree on which I discovered this is unclear with regard to sources. Any available help would sincerely be much appreciated. Merry Christmas and Whatnot! Humbug.

red mail William Innes
Could anyone help me find William Innes he married Agnes Buchanan, and had a son William in 1785 in Glasgow. I have only found the 1841 census , occupation pattern drawer and print designer. ( this is from the Scottish Post Office Directories) The information I am trying to find is his birth, marriage details along with any information on Agnes, and later census years. I also have found other children, but can't seem to find information before 1785. difficult as Scotland Records are harder to search! It's also possible this William married Janet McNight in 1805 I would appreciate any help or suggestions, Thanks Anne

ISLER.......YOUNG
Does Capt Isler ring any bells with anyone? I don't know his nationality, where he was born, lived or died. I also don't know if Capt refers to a Naval or Army rank or from what country. He was however related to, and probably the father of Dorothy Gladys Isler or Young. She was born circa 1895 or 6 and brought up in Glasgow, by Elisabeth Clark Young ms Smith. She married Matthew Meredith Creasey Jones in London and they then lived in Troon. She died aged aprox 44 at Redlands hospital, Glasgow, circa 1940. Any help in finding Capt Isler,or any other information about the family would be very much appreciated.

The Glasgow German Club circa 1900
My great-grandfather, Alexander Thomas Assafrey (b. Reval, Livonia, Russia - now Talinn, Estonia -, in 1844) joined the Glasgow German Club some time after his arrival in about 1870. He must have spoken Estonian and Russian as well as German (his brother Christian, who remained in Livonia, printed books in all 3 languages), but presumably there were few Estonian or Russian speakers in Glasgow at the time. I assume it was at the German Club that A.T. Assafrey got to know his much younger German-born friend Eugen Schultzen. Does anyone have ancestors who belonged to the German Club? I'd like to know more about it.
