George Alfred (MARYOTT) ETALL bc 1839 Dover
I have George Alfred ETALL (aka MARYOTT) b bef 7 Aug 1839 in Dover, KENT. George is the son of James ETALE and Elizabeth M MARYATT. "George Maryott ETALL baptised Dover St Mary 7 Aug 1839 son of James and Elizabeth". James ETALE was thought to have had a livery stable located between Walmer Castle and Dover, as George stated he "held the Duke of Wellington's horse" in a 1922 newspaper article about his life in the British Navy and service during the Crimean War. George has been found registered as a seaman, arriving in Australia c1861. George used the name George Alfred Maryott in Sydney, Australia and his Death is listed as being in Sydney in 1923. Any information gratefully accepted!

Mary Mills
She married an ancestor named Isaac Brown in Dover in 1794. Neither of these two can be traced after this date, although there is a record of a Mary Brown dying in Deal in 1797 but listed as a widow. Did her husband Isaac die before this date. Does anyone have any details that they could pass on. Regards. Michael.

red mail Dover - Parish/area of Charlton
Is anybody doing research into the Charlton area of Dover, Kent. I am particularly interested in the period 1850-1880 but because I live abroad it is difficult to do the leg work. Also does anyone have information of the Cannon family of Charlton, Dover who subsequently moved to Mile End (East London) c1890. Later Walter William Cannon moved to Plumstead Common (South East London) c.1901. Can anyone help? Will share my information on the Cannon family.
