1834 William and Mary (sarah)Quinn boarded brig Cupid for Saint John N.B.,Canada. They departed from Newry and on the ships passenger list are shown as living in Warrenpoint, Co Down. Also on the ship were Marys parents and siblings John and Catherine Trainor, from Co.Louth probably Omeath area. I have reason to beleive Williams parents were Bernard and Mary Quinn from Cornamuckla, Co.Louth. I also beleive William and Mary travelled with a child less than 1 year old (James). In Canada they had 9 children. About 1881 William and sarah Mary moved to Boston with some of their grown children.
Does any one have any more info on Quinns in this area(Cornamucklagh)or why a man 23 yrs old would be living over in warrenpoint at this time, was that common?
