Timothy Kane married to Catherine was living in Tudor Road, Cardiff in 1901 and probably had 2 sons, Timothy and John, as well as 3 daughters, Winifred, Margaret and Annie (the latter 3 are included in the 1901 census and my father knew them). I believe Timothy (Junior) was my Great Grandfather but I can find no trace of him in the 1901 census or anywhere else as I believe he was at sea as a Marine Engineer at the time.

I'm trying to trace a band leader in Cardiff around the 1930s called Austin Moreton. I have a picture of my grandfather playing trumpet in the Austin Moreton and The Tyroleans Dance Band apparently in a Royal Ball for the Duke of Kent and Princess Marina in Cardiff in 1935. A man - supposedly Austin Moreton - is out front leading it. I'm interested in trying to find out more about the band, why my grandfather was playing in it etc. I'm hoping someone might be able to help... Best wishes Stephen

I am looking for decendants of 2 Bascombe families in Cardiff. Firstly William George Bascombe who married Eliza Hyatt 1881, they had 3 children, Mabel, George and James. secondly Samuel Bascombe who married Susannah Blackwell 1895, they had 1 son in the 1901 census, i don't know if they had any more children.Samuel was a master house painter and died in 1934 aged 80. B Richards present at the death.

Does anyone know of a Miss Jones or any of her descendents who lived at 60 Theobald Road Cardiff in 1940. I know she was a friend of my mothers, Gwedoline Thomas. Also I am interested in finding out about the Memorial Hall Sunday school in Canton, if anyone has memories of this place in the 1930's.
