William John Beattie
I am looking for any information regarding William John Beattie who married Bridget O'Shannessy in 1870 in Canterbury, New Zealand. I understand that William was born on 31 March 1835 in Randalstown, County Antrim, Ireland and he died in New Zealand on 14 June 1914. Bridget was born in 1849, probably in County Clare, Ireland and died on 18 July 1929. I am interested to learn in which year and aboard what sailing ship, they both came to New Zealand. Their eldest child, Annie Beattie, born in 1871, married John Paton Findlay in 1892 in Geraldine, Canterbury, NZ. Do any of these names etc, have a connection with any details you may have in your Beattie, O'Shannessy or Findlay family tree?

I am researching these families in the Randalstown area circa 1800. Any information would be appreciated. I believe the Dickeys may have owned/operated a cotton mill. Hollybrook House in Randalstown I believe is where they lived. The families were associated with the East India Company also
