Entries around
red mail Daniel and James Murphy and Anne Gillece
I am looking for information on my great great grandfather James Murphy who according to the census originally came from Enniskillen. He was born around 1873 and married Anastasia Sweeney in Liverpool on 28th August 1899. His father Daniel (born around 1837) also came from the area and he may have been married to Anne Gilleece. James and Anastasia lived in Kirkdala in Liverpool and both are buried at Ford cemetery in the city. James was a dock worker and his children were Catherine and Annie, plus Jame and Bernard. Hope you can help.

Mary Jane NICHOLSON (or Sarah Jane NICHOLSON) was born about 1830, Enniskillen, Fermanagh, Ireland. Parents: Richard NICHOLSON (maybe a soldier) and Mary (maiden surname unknown, maybe MILLER or NICHOLSON). Mary Jane and her sister Ann NICHOLSON (who married Robert MORLEY) both went to Australia. Mary Jane was pregnant when she emigrated in 1856. She later married Robert BUTLER but he probably wasn't the father of that child. Please contact me (Judy) to exchange information.

red mail Allen. Armstrong
John Allen and Isabella (maiden name not known but possibly Armstrong ( see below) lived in Fermanagh, Ireland. They were probably born around 1825 and married around 1855. They had at least one child - Thomas Allen born c1857 in Enniskillen, Co Fermanagh, N. Ireland. He emigrated to Australia aboard 'The Northampton' arriving in Sydney, New South Wales on 24 December 1880. As far as can be ascertained he was not accompanied by any other member of his family. However, although the ship's record is difficult to read, in the column headed 'Relations in the Colony' it does appear to say 'Uncle. William Armstrong. Sydney' so it is possible that his mother's maiden name was Armstrong; alternatively William Armstrong could be the husband of John Allen's sister. According to the ship's records his 'calling' was Sailor, he was in good health, he could read and write and his religious denomination was 'C of E'. He married Hannah Jane Adams on 20 May 1891 at Mortlake Congregational Church, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. I'm looking for any information on John Allen, his wife Isabella and their ancestors/family and/or William Armstrong.
