William Crowe of County Clare  Apr 2009 (156939)
I have a gt gt gt grandfather who was [it seems] born in County Clare in 1790. It is possible his parents' names were William Crowe and Catherine Howard. He got married to an Eleanor Hayes in 1809 in Lisson Green, London. He was in the 73rd Regiment that went to Sydney in 1810. He stayed in the colony - taking up land at a place called Appin. One of his sons, James, created something of a pastoral empire. Does this William Crowe fit into any know County Clare Crowe family histories? Cheers Trish
