Bird - James district of Regents Rd Salford  Apr 2009 (156717)
I am searching for descendants of Mr Tom Bird (Senior & Junior),Mrs Gertrude Cliff (Formerly Bird) Mr Charles Henry Bird, There are another 2 sisters but I am not sure of there names & James Bird who immigrated to Australia. Parents of the above mentioned siblings are James Bird ' Killed in the Togo Mill accident in 1906, and Emmeline Bird (Formerly Wilkinson.) At the time of my Grandfather (James Bird Jnr) birth they were residing in Robertson Sheet, Salford Gertrude has 2 daughters that I know of Frances (was living in Whitley Bay Newcastle in 1983) & Iris (was living in Manchester in 1983) I am unsure if they have married. Tom has 1 son Tom Jnr Married to Joan (A Teacher) Last known to be living in Manchester. Charlie had a daughter Grace, unsure if there were anymore children and if she married (she may have immigrated to Australia in the 80's) The last known address I have for Gertrude is: Southern Street, Salford The last known address I have for Tom (Snr) is: Heathfield Road, Bebington, Merseyside, The Wirral James Bird was my grandfather, and his above mentioned siblings are my Great Aunt's & Uncle's. My Grandpa had 4 sons, James Baden (deceased), Edward (Ted), Raymond (Ray), and Christopher John (my father). If anyone is in contact with any of the Bird family, I would greatly appreciate any information you could provide.

Seeking information on my great, great grandparents – George STOCKTON and his wife Elizabeth ASPIN. George Stockton was born around 1832 in Lancashire, Warrington, UK and died on April 7, 1908 in Salford. His wife Elizabeth Aspin was born around 1835 in Lancashire, Warrington, UK, her date of death is not known. They had several children, all born in Salford, Lancashire: Margaret Stockton (born c1860), Sarah Jane Stockton (born c1863), George Stockton (born c1865) Thomas Stockton (my great grandfather – born February 25, 1866), James Stockton (born c 1869), Joseph Stockton (born c1870), John Stockton (born c1873) and Peter Stockton (born c1879). George Stockton was a Fustian Cutter by occupation. In the 1901 UK Census, George Stockton, Elizabeth Aspin Stockton are living with their son, John and his wife Mary. My great grandfather, Thomas Stockton married Elizabeth Ann Stevenson Ormandy on July 5, 1885 at the Parish Church, Parish of St. Mark Holme, Lancaster, UK. Elizabeth Ann Stevenson Ormandy was born on October 27, 1864, Dale Street, Liverpool, Lancaster, UK. She was the daughter of Thomas Ormandy and Jane Elizabeth Owens. Thomas and Elizabeth Ormandy Stockton had the following children, all born in UK: Thomas Stockton (born c 1866 – died young), Elizabeth Stockton (born c1887 – died young), Joseph Stockton (born c1888 died May 1, 1895), Peter Stockton (born November 4, 1890 died August 2, 1958), Thomas Stockton (born June 13, 1893 died November 1971), William Stockton (born November 5, 1895 died March 21, 1966), Ada Stockton (born June 13, 1898 date of death unknown), Martha Stockton (born November 3, 1900 died November 19, 1994) and George Stockton, born in Lowell, MA after 1901 and died young before the 1910 US Federal Census. Thomas Stockton left the UK from Liverpool on February 26, 1901 and his wife and children followed on April 12, 1901. They first settled in Lowell, MA and after they moved to New York Mills, Oneida County, NY. My grandfather was William Stockton. My great grandfather was the only child to leave the UK and come to the US of this family group of George Stockton and Elizabeth Aspin Stockton. I would appreciate any information and would like to connect to my UK 3rd cousins.

Looking for information on my mother's family, Charlie and Doris White, lived at #35 Wellington St East Salford during the war and after. Only daughter Laurie (Ethel) married Canadian airman in 1945 & moved to Canada. Doris died 1950, family rumour says Charlie remarried and had another child early '50s. Charlie was employed as a typographer or compositor.
