I am looking for any information on the Monks of Kings Langley/Chipperfield.
Sears (17566)
Looking for relatives of Sears from Kings Langley. Latest ancestor of mine is George Sears, a sawyer (1825), who moved to Tring by 1840s. Married twice, Ann Saunders (1851) then Eleanor Funge (abt.1855) with one and three children respectively. Would like to hear more information - many thanks.
Plumbe (14911)
Quite recent history, but Plumbes settled in Kings-L by building on a vacant block on Langley Hill in 1933-35, and proceeded to have a sizeable family there during the next 20 years. This was despite there being a major interuption due to WW2! My older brothers and sisters in particular made many friends while at school there, locally and at Berkhamstead. Anyone recollect the name or family?
