This family is also linked to the Barton Family, Annis Family, Rutter Family, Rose Family and Clark Family in Canada. Any information regarding any of these families would be appreciated. Any information regarding the Chamberlain Family, Grant Family, Peaver/Peever Family from England, Ireland and Scotland would also be appreciated.

My ggg grandfather John Williams was an agricultural worker b. Brompton 1797, christened in Gillingham, where his family lived for 100 years. He married Maria Freed, b. Isle of Wight of parents Edward and Maria Freed "of East Kent." They moved west to Chalk, then Stone and Wilmington near Dartford, before leaving for the new world in 1853, among the pioneers of British Columbia. I'm interested in information on life in that part of Kent, and why they left their home.

I'm looking for the SIMMONS family from Gillingham. My husband's great grandfather was Thomas SIMMONS born in 1815 in GILLINGHAM but moved to NORFOLK, firstly as a policeman and then ran the Post Office in Saxlingham Nethergate. His father was JamesSIMMONS, died 1829. Thomas married Susan WILSON in Norfolk (she may have been a widow named Elliott at the time of the marriage). Thomas died in 1902 and Susan in 1908.

Looking for information regarding parents of John Challis and Elizabeth Annie Rich who married 29 Sep 1906 in District of Bromley, Kent. The father of John was named Thomas and the father of Elizabeth Annie was named Charles. I would very much liketo find out who the mothers and any other relatives may be. I have letters in my possesion from a "Sister Ellen" (postmarked 1965 from Gillingham Kent) who states she is 84 at the time. Other letters from Orpington Kent from Emmie? as well. Sidcup also.
