red mail Do I have relations in Ireland?
After a year of searching I have found no information to confirm my ancestors even came from Ireland... What I know is that Michael Patrick Scanlon was born in 1826 in Muckalee County Kilkenny. His parents were Patrick Scanlon and Catherine Coonan. Michael came to Australia in 1847, some of his siblings followed (Bridget, James, Mary and Ellen). He married Julia Brennan who was also said to have come from Muckalee. Julia died 18-3-1871 and was buried in the Bunningyong Cemetary, Victoria-Australia. Michael died 7-12-1922 in Quambatook, Victoria-Australia. I would love to know where these ancestors lived in Muckalee and where Patrick and Catherine are buried and if there are relatives still living there? Thanks Michelle

Hope someone can help please going back with my Irish roots, and possible name changes. Day was probably spelt Dea or Dae in the 1800's My Great Great Grandfather William Day and his brother Patrick, appeared on the 1861 English Census and they were from Tipperary. William was born around 1840/1844 (depending on which Census you read) and Patrick was born in 1838. William got married in Aston, Birmingham to Margaret Keegan from Galway (her mother was Mary Keegan). Margaret was born in 1847 and her mother Mary Keegan was born in 1815.
