Finon/Finnin/Finning/Canning/Cannon
Hi I'm looking for ancestors of my ggg grandfather John Canning who left Ireland for England around 1843 - 48 with his wife Ellen and their 3 young children John, Patrick, and Bridget. They settled in Willenhall, Staffordshire - after which Patrick and his wife moved to Chesterfield, Derbyshire. We're puzzled by the name changes though - John is listed on 1851 UK census as Canning, yet on the 1861 census the same family are calling themselves Finan. Thereafter they change the names and spellings of them at will! If anyone could help solve this mystery we'd be delighted to hear from you!

red mail Catherine Wynne (1829-1897)
My ex-partner's relative and her husband have both been elusive, Catherine Wynne's (later Williams) grave states she was a 'native of Roscommon, Ireland' and suggests her date of birth to be 1829. Other records indicate her maiden name to have been Winn, Thim, Thin, Wyn and Thimm. Her husband's name varies from Vincent to Griffith and at times both and he was born in Wales, they married in New South Wales, Australia in 1860. In fact after she is born in 1829 the next record of her is the 1860 marriage. There after until her death in 1897 the records are straight. Exactly where in Roscommon she was born is unknown, but seeking any help others can provide.

red mail Francis Dodson Kenny
Looking on info on Francis Dodson Kenny & his wife (unknown). He was rector of Ester Snow/Easter Snow, c. last 1/3 of 1700s. His daughter, Thomazine Kenny, was born in 1764, & m. her husband, Wm. Henry Moore, at Ester Snow in 1792. (Do not know if Francis was in Ester Snow when Thomazine was born.) Speculate that his mother may have been a Dodson, due to his middle name. Thanks for any info/leads you can share.
