London - Bleeding Heart Yard - Charles Walker jeweller
Charles Walker is given as the father of Mary Walker, who married Edward Buckee a metal worker/brazier/farrier and seemed to have about 30 children, one of whom, William born 1855 was my grandfather. The area seems to be close to what is now Hatton Gdns etc. Charles could have been born about 1790 and seems to have married Ann?
red mail Help Reading Place Name
I am currently transcribing a will and am stuck on a place name. I have located the street on a 1900 London street atlas, which is Moor Lane off Fore Street right next to Moorgate Station but I am having trouble reading the place name on the will, which looks like it ends in hill? So it reads Moor Lane, Fore Street, something-hill. Any help would be gratefully received.

red mail Prudon
Can anyone throw some light on this name? My great grandmother's maiden name was Prudon (Emma)born 1834/35 in Old Fish Street, City of London and her father was John Prudon. There may be a french connection as on the 1861 census there was only one Prudon (Eugene) who was born in France. Apparently there was a John Prudon who in 1826 was "transported for 7 years" for theft by the Old Bailey! Would very much appreciate any information.
