I am searching for info on my 4 X great grandmother MARY JENNINGS who was Transported to Sydney Cove Australia in 1794 aboard the ship "Surprize". Mary was tried for stealing some clothing from the "Joel Family" at No.4 East Smithfield. She was tried by the first Middlesex Jury before Mr Recorder on 30 October 1793, and sentenced to Transportation for 7 years. I am presuming Mary was born somewhere in London - can anyone help me with information on Mary.

Hi All I have a relation mentioned in a court case at the Old Bailey. He was a witness, His name is Charles Smetzer. see extract from the court case, below. Charles Smetzer worked for printing department of the Foreign Office. Wellington Guernsey, Theft > simple larceny, 13th December 1858. Wellington Guernsey was indicted for stealing 10 printed papers, 10 other papers, and 10 pieces of paper, of Our Lady the Queen. Mr. Attorney-General, with Mr. Serjeant Ballantine, Messrs. Wilsby, Bodkin, and Clerk conducted the Prosecution. Witness:- Charles Smetzer. Is there any way I can get access to Charles Smetzer`s employment records from the Foreign Office or any other records related to his work. Darryl

I've traced my tree back to an Edward White circa 1700 whose daughter Elizabeth married a John Phillips, who died in Dinder in 1737 and Elizabeth in 1774. Their son (also named John) married his cousin Grace White in 1739 in St Benet Paul's Warfe, London. John and Elizabeth also had 3 other sons Joseph, Stephen and Edward. I also have information relating to Stephen and Edward's descendants.
