Firmans born within earshot of the Bow Bells
I am doing my husbands family tree, which is proving difficult. William George Firman as we knew him was my husbands grandfather, he was born within earshot of the Bow Bells, London, about 1873. He ran away from home when he was fourteen to join a circus / fair, and spent his life travelling fairs in the North East. I have his death certificate, he died in Stockton in 1918, his age on certificate was 45, his occupation was Travelling Showman. I have been unable to find his Birth and Marriage Certificates. I have been told he married in Durham. The mother of the children was Elizabeth Ann Robson. Children were born in Easington, Hartlepool, Morpeth, Durham areas. Any information at all on this elusive person would be absolutely great. Regards Christine
