Who was Michael Begley of Limerick, born 1754/5
Michael Begley was born in Limerick. He first appeared in Albany, New York in the early 1790s, working as a tobacconist and merchant. He became an American citizen. He married -- no date -- a woman named Ann F. (probably an American); they had three children: Thomas F., Benjamin F., and Mary. Michael was a founding trustee of St. Mary's Catholic church in Albany. In 1800 he was convicted of assault and battery and sentenced to two years at Newgate Prison, New York City. After returning from prison he died in Albany in 1805. His grave has not been found. After his death his widow moved to Pittstown, Rensselaer County, New York. Ann did not remarry and died there in 1827. Any help on his origins would be appreciated.

red mail White of Limerick
My great grandfather John White came to South Africa +-1865. He brought his wife Margaret (nee OÇonnell) and their 5 year old daughter Johanna Jane Francis White with them. Margaret OÇonnell was born in Caherconlish in 1841. John White and Margaret OÇonnell were married in St Michael's Church, Limerick on 01/03/1859. In St John's Cathedral, Limerick, I have found that a John White was baptised on 21/01/1836. This could be my gg grandfather but I need further proof. This John White's parents were Michael White and Mary Hayes. I have also found siblings of this John White viz. James bap 21/07/1833, Michael bap 05/12/1839 and Catherine bap 14/06/1842 all baptised in St John's. If there is anyone related to this family living in Limerick or elsewhere, I would love to hear from you. Kevin.

I am trying to find information about my great great grandfather who migrated to Australia from Ireland around 1858. According to article written on his death he was a native of County Limerick Ireland. He was a well respected resident of Brighton Victoria. His wife was Mary Reid and he had two sons, Sinon and Thomas. He died in November 1981. I am interested in learning about his time in Ireland and his trip out to Australia.
