red mail Celebrated Pianist
Any information about James Marquis Chisholm, born in Neilston 1837 and composer of Battle of Stirling, and brother of David Bowman Chisholm, noted piano tuner in mid 1880's, welcomed. Marj Fox
red mail Barrhead, Neilston & Johnston
Great Grandmother Isabella Rennie born in Barrhead around 1880. Married a Patrick Toner on 21st August 1902. Don't know either his or hers parents names or if they had any siblings. The one piece of information I have is that her father owned a shopwhich I think was a grocery store and his sister worked in it with him. I also think that my great grandmother Isabella Rennie was a twin, and I think that Patrick toner was a seaman. If anyone can give me any information about them i would be very grateful.
red mail Jack Family From Paisley
Robert Jack, born New Deer, Aberdeenshire and maried in Paisley 1825 was the son of Alexander Jack, who moved with his brother Peter from near Fraserburgh to New Deer. Both brothers became crofters at first but Peter stayed in farming and he and hisson started a farm near New Deer that had grown to 100 acres by the time I was born on it in 1939. My father sold the farm in 1955 and we are all over the place now, including (in my case) Sweden but also Canada, England and, once again, Paisley (oneof my sisters). Robert's uncle Peter was my G-G-G Grandfather.
