red mail Keeton Family searching ancester.
I'm a curious fox! Happy new year to all from America. My great grandfather was Alfred Francis Keeton. Went by frank Keeton. I'm told he was born in Virginia, U.S.A, but like all immigrants from great britain they mostly settled in virginia being the first English colony. And it was the place of records. Richmond, Virginia. However I've not had any luck on finding out much about my Great grandfather. First off, my great grandmother and he had an unhappy marriage. She left him. At 4 years old Frank Keeton's son John richard carried then, a different last name. My great grandmother changed it to Wilkinson. He carried that name unknowingly himself untill he was married with children. My father and his siblings didn't know this, and myself and my siblings all carry the Wilkinson name. I only honor " Keeton," as this is in fact my bloodline and birthrite name. Eventhough I only found this out in recent years. It's an unfortunate thing, but I'm wondering if there are any Keetons that could possibly give me a list of immigrants who came to the U.S. in the 1800's and even before that time. I'm trying to link my greatgrandfather's family line back to England. There's a gap between the time frame but I need a place to start.Thank you kindly for your thoughts and time, Phillip
